Sorghum is a grass which grows to between 1.50m (cereal
varieties of
Sorghum bicolor)
and 4m (for Sorghum saccharatum used
to make sugar and syrup)

The sorghum stalk is filled with
a marrow containing a mild sweet juice that is rich in fructose, β-D-fructofuranoside and glucose (resulting from
hydrolysis of the plant’s
starch reserves).

The polyols contained in sorghum sap have numerous hydroxyl functions that interact

to form a network (hydrogen bonds). In addition, interaction between the network thus formed and the keratins of the corneocytes at the surface of the stratum corneum results in an adhesive and coherent film being formed. The combination of the interactions induces the texturing and tightening effect
