It seems like only yesterday that we were ordered to shelter in place because of COVID-19.

Now, people everywhere are gearing up for the end of lockdowns and rejoining a world that is yet to fully shake off the threat of a disruptive killer virus. Wearing a mask for long periods can cause slight discomfort. The repeated rubbing of the mask can cause irritation and redness or even burns from the friction.

  3. Apply your moisturizer just before wearing your mask to optimize the benefits of the treatment before contact with this potentially irritating accessory.
  4. To prevent pimples from degenerating, you must dry them out (by applying clay on them, for example) and treat them effectively.
  5. Prevent skin dryness, particularly in the most fragile areas, such as the lips, and those where the mask rubs with lip care and balms.
  6. Limit make up especially foundation. This tends to amplify the risk of pimples and redness by further preventing the skin from breathing.
  7. If you have chosen a surgical mask, place a tissue between it and the skin, to minimize aggression and discomfort.
  8. Adapt your skin care regimen. Skin dries up or is it tight? We opt for a milder cleanser and a suitable moisturizer. Conversely, if the skin becomes oily and favorable to the appearance of pimples, it is thoroughly cleaned and put on anti-acne care.

7 STEPS FOR EXTRA PROTECTION DURING THE CORONA PANDEMIC

In times like this with the Corona Virus pandemic, I am reminded of some of the ways my great-grandmother used to maintain her household cleansed.  There were not as many medications and antibiotics back then, so some of these habits were practiced a lot more. 

Here is a list of the few I remember and, while adding a couple more.

  1. Aerate your home by opening the windows daily.   Did you know that it is a great way to remove the presence of pollutants and bacteria?   Turn off your air conditioner if you are a warm climate and put your coats on if you are in a cold climate, either way, make sure you aerate.

 

  1. Use your disinfectant the proper way! Don’t just spray and wipe! It doesn’t give the antibacterial enough time to do its job.  Leave on for 15 minutes and wipe thoroughly with a microfiber cloth.

 

  1. Did you know that all you really need is Bleach, Soap (black soap preferably)( studies have shown that people who use antibacterial products, are just as sick, as those who only use plain soap) and some Lysol spray? Buy yourself an empty spray bottle and dilute the bleach into that spray bottle.

 

4. Remember to disinfect the door knobs, people are touching them all day long.

 

5. Do not store all of your toothbrushes together. If someone was sick in your house, you can always boil them to disinfect.

 

6.  Do not vacuum if someone was infected with coronavirus in your home? Do not vacuum. Indeed, there is a risk of diffusing the tiny       particles. If no one was infected: Do vacuum regularly.

 

  1. Aromatherapy is a good way to fight a cold, and can even be helpful in easing flu symptoms and disinfecting the home.  It is also a great way to stay looking young, as it will help to keep much needed moisture on your skin.   Personally recommend Vetiver oil, it’s a powerful antimicrobial

PS: Lemon is a natural antibacterial and antiseptic, do feel free to cut up a few slices to put into your water bottle
